THE IDEA BEHIND THE BRAND

Cor Habeo is a London based luxury footwear brand that brings together natural beauty and empathic design with high skilled Italian manufacturing to deliver a unique luxury product.

The brand’s name literally translates from Latin as ‘to have heart’ and it is the origin of the word ‘courage’. Cor Habeo expresses in its name the spirit of the brand. It represents its team’s desire and determination to make fashion in a meaningful way.

EMPATHIC DESIGN

Cor Habeo’s design process links aesthetics and functionality

Fit and comfort are placed as major priorities to create foot-friendly shoes with a feminine appeal. Cor Habeo shoes incorporate a fully padded foot bed with support for the arch and extra padding made of memory foam under the ball of the foot. For a greater feeling of comfort, the lining is made of soft vegetable tanned leather which is breathable and non-toxic for the skin.

ETHICAL LUXURY

Cor Habeo has ethical performance and environmental sustainability as part of its brand ethos.

The leather used for uppers and lining has been processed with plant extracts and is free from heavy metals. Salmon skin is the brand’s alternative to exotic skins. This leather is a by-product of the food industry, ethically sourced from European fish farms and tanned with the eco-friendly millenary methods of the Nanai people. For its packaging, Cor Habeo chooses to recycle end of line paper and textiles.

The Alpha collaboration was born out of an unorthodox idea of luxury, where the precious meets the undervalued, where meaning transcends conventional material worth.  One of Cor Habeo’s brand principles is that of using ethically sourced materials, such as salmon skin.  Palvinder Nangla’s work also embodies this belief as he creates beautiful and precious pieces of art out of discarded objects.
